As promised, here's the article I wrote with the lovely help of my friends list :)

Top 10 Harry Potter Moments...so far!

Asking any Harry Potter fan to choose a favourite moment or scene is like asking a mother to pick her favourite child. It can't and shouldn't be done. There are too many moments to choose from, each awesome in their own way, and it probably makes your head spin just to think about picking just one, right? So we decided to save you the pain and anguish and compiled our very own list of the best moments from the first five Harry Potter films. It wasn't easy: the list changed more times than we can count, arguments were waged and lost, friendships hung precariously in the balance but we settled firmly on ten moments we think stand out from the pack. Do you agree with our picks? Did your favourites make the cut?

10. The Owl on Privet Drive (Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone)

We start our list at the very first moment of the very first film. While void of thrilling plots and important characters, the eerie lighting, the fog, the essential Britishness of the street name and the sign, the odd sight of the owl where it ought not to be, and that mysterious John Williams score perfectly set the stage for the entire series. It was pure movie magic right from the start and in one brief moment, director Chris Columbus managed to completely capture the essence of the novels - so much so that it almost immediately quieted any worried or prematurely irate fan. It was clear movie audiences were witnessing very something special and that we were all be in for quite a ride.

Happy (Belated) Halloween!

So yesterday was a full day...meetings galore in the morning, the office party in the afternoon, dinner out with work peeps, followed by a late showing of Zack and Miri Make A Porno.

Meetings were actually useful (for a change). The party went off without a hitch - as did my costume (I went as Joan from Mad Men...loved my red wig so much I think I'll wear it all the time), dinner was awesome, and the movie was hysterical.

Zack and Miri do what? )

Oh...and did I mention I also took part in my annual pumpkin carving this week? Always a good time...I was pretty tired on the night so I'm not super happy with how mine turned out (the lines aren't very clean) but none the less, another year's pumpkin carved:

My Dr. Horrible Pumpkin )

Friend Pumpkin #1 - Homer Simpson )

Friend Pumpkin #2 - ET )

So there it is, another Halloween come and gone. Time to stop listening to my Halloween music mix on my iPod, to put away my stack of scary movies (and Buffy episodes), and to bemoan the lack of pumpkin products available to buy at the supermarket (tasty!). Now it's time to roll my eyes at the fact all the Halloween paraphernalia in stores has already been replaced by Santas and mistletoe.
