Okay - so I'm the worst LJ user ever...months between posts and belatedly returning comments. I think it's because despite how busy I've become in my job, I just didn't have anything I thought was interesting enough to talk about.

Still don't really...but due to a recent battle with the plague (aka worst cold/flu I've had in a long time) I'm revisiting fandoms past! I've watched all of Firefly (and then re-watched commentary episodes), then watched Serenity (and then watched both commentaries), then watched most of season 2 of Angel and Season 4 of Buffy. And so I'm deeply immersed in the Jossverse...especially given the recent Buffy the Vampire Slayer cast reunion at the Paley Festival in LA (which I would've sold my firstborn to attend, by the by) I thought I'd wax a bit philosophical on the joy that is the Joss-verse and share my excitement about some Jossian creations coming down the pipe. Also, marvel at my ability to turn Joss into any number of verbs, nouns and adjectives.

Okay...I am more excited about my Halloween costume than I've ever been before..and I threw it all together in 3 days!!! I'm going as...

INARA!!

Not that I'm obsessed with the 'Verse in the least ;) It looks pretty damn good, if I do say so myself. I have a long burgundy dress, trimmed with gold thread, oriental looking necklace and earrings (gold), and long curly black wig. Oh and a cape like she wore in The Train Job.

Why did I go to so much trouble? I have planned and am hosting a party at work tomorrow for the entire company - including the CEO, etc. So I have to look good.

Guess how much time they gave me to plan this? A week! They came to me last Friday and were like, "Ummm...we kind of forgot, but our department always puts on a big bash for the whole building...it's a big PR thing for our department and since we are the Design/Interactive department, people expect it to be good. So yeah, can you plan something?"

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! *tears hair out*

One of our designers and I managed to throw together an invite on Monday morning and sent it to everyone. ( Party Invite )

After that, it actually all fell together and I think it will be half decent and anyway, my costume kicks ass! And people will know who she is, because one of TV stations plays and promotes Firefly all the time :)

Okay...this is driving me insane. I've been trying for weeks to download the digital Firefly soundtrack from FoxMusic.com and it will NOT work for me. I can get to the check out part but everytime it goes to start the download, I get an error and will not continue!!!!

HELP!!

Does anyone know how to get it to work or maybe another place to get ahold of it?

I have been obsessively reading every review I could get my grubby hands on and I am so happy to see the majority are very positive! Over at RottenTomatoes.com - Serenity is current sitting at 83% Fresh...that's an excellent rating! Earlier today it was high over at metacritic.com as well (around 76 I think) which is very high for that site but the site has gone down now...too many Browncoats checking and refreshing!

I saw it again on Wednesday at a Sneak Peek (this time for work), so that brings the total to 3 times! And I will be going at least once more next week...I'm a very sick puppy.

HOLY MOTHER OF GOD AND ALL HER WACKY NEPHEWS!!!

The Big Damn Movie was fucking fabulous...there is no other way to say that. I am still giddy beyond belief and it's been over for 2 hours! I know that most of my friends list is staying spoiler-free for Serenity so I won't say anything about the movie itself except to say that Joss and every last cast and crew member have one big, beautiful movie to be proud of.

And the next exciting part? I met Sean Maher!!!!!!!! He came and introduced the movie, sat in the audience to watch the whole thing (he said he'd seen it once before but that it has 'been a blur the first time') and then signed autographs for every single person in the audience. Amazing. He was too cute and very nice...I sincerly thanked him for coming, that it meant a lot to the fans, and he said he was really touched by all the enthusiasm and was glad everyone had turned out!

Also, next best thing to the movie and Sean was the audience. I've never met such a wonderful crowd of kind and happy people...we cheered at everything, we sang the theme song and the Hero of Canton as we sat waiting for the movie to begin (my Dad was a little thrown by almost everyone knowing the words but him...he's new to the 'Verse), and then clapped and cheered and "awwwwed" and just generally threw ourselves into the movie (again my dad laughed at me because I got right into it...whooping when good things happened, gasping when surprised or biting my lip during the suspenseful parts). Best night out to a movie I've ever spent. I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to find you, desoto_hia873, I suck at remembering faces so odds are I could've been sitting next to you and I might not have recognized you! But at SFX, we will have to remedy that :)
